Our first day, we drove from Norfolk, VA, to Lexington, KY. It was rainy and foggy in the mountains. West Virginia was icky. The mountains made our ears hurt. Mom was grumpy because there weren't any NPR stations and spotty cell phone reception. Made for a boring drive.
The next day, we got to visit the biggest dog park we have ever been to. If you're ever traveling through Lexington, you have to go to Coldstream Dog Park. The little dog section is bigger than all of the dog parks in Norfolk put together. The big dog section was even larger.
This is the little dog section. You can barely make out the fence at the far end.
You can't even see the fence on this side.
This is the big dog section.
Coldstream Dog Park is 12 acres.
It's just off Interstate 64 and about 2 miles from the very dog friendly La Quinta.
We highly recommend it.
After a good run and watching a hawk try to eat a bird, we got on the road.
We got to Illinois in good time so we hit another dog park!
This one is in O'Fallon and wasn't as big, but had really neat agility equipment.
A nice paved path to a covered picnic area. No food though.
Hurdles and wobbly weave poles!
Platforms for diva posing, right?
After another good run, we checked into our hotel and napped until we got to meet Payton!
Wow, what a dog park! It looks like it used to be a pasture? We are very jealous of your adventures! Can't wait to see Part 2. Mack is in love with Payton and wants to hear all about her.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip about the collar vs the cone for Ms Daisy after her surgery.
Drools and licks,
Minnie and Mack
Wow, that Coldstream park is a dream! And I still can't believe that I've never been to that park in O'Fallon. Gracie has been helping Suki learn agility, so if she visits me, I'll have to take her there.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Payton
Wow is right, what a dog park! I can't wait to go to the one in o'Fallen the next time I'm in that neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Suki
That's SOME dog park! I bet you guys had a great time there. I'm excited to hear about your meet-up with Payton - my family and I got to meet her, too! Now if only my 'rents would get their act together and post the photos!
