Oliver is doing great here.

He has to be in a crate when mom's at work.
Some dogs really don't like crates, but we started by feeding him in there.
He seems to like it okay!
Chewing on a bully stick. He really likes them!

He's eating well and doing his best to avoid taking his Benadryl. Just an excuse to get a pill pocket, we think! The shirt is to help with the itchies that drive you crazy. Mom has a theory that wearing clothes is similar to wearing a Thundershirt, somehow calming and soothing. Plus, it beats wearing a cone to prevent chewing.

His partner in crime, Piper, was also rescued. She's at another home locally, because honestly, we don't need any more ladies in the house. And she might be pregnant. That is a super NO. Mom can handle cancer, old age, death, but no babies. They are cute and all, but the potential for an emergency C section, every 2 hour feedings and trying to keep the peace makes it out of the question. But Piper is in a first rate foster home with experience in pug babies.

  4. So glad Oliver is doing well! He's adorable. I can understand about the babies, very adorable and exciting but loads of stress and work. I'm glad mama found a great foster home to get her through!

  5. Crates aren't that bad. They're like you're very own private room, and you're very own private space. I like my crate. I sleep in mine every night. Feel better pal!

    Lots of licks,

  6. Glad to hear Oliver is doing so well under your care. My 'rents actually make me wear shirts sometimes when I'm scratching a lot or licking the floor - any of my "obsessive" behavior. It does seem to calm me down - that's why they call them "Confidence Shirts".

I've done my fair share of spitting out benedryl. Oliver's right - they taste GROSS! However, once enclosed in a treat, I will gladly take one. :)

    -Love,
    Sid.

  7. Glad she was taken in, too ... we were worried about her! Mama used to raise Pekingese puppies years ago and she agrees ... it's a lot of work. And she says she is too old for that!

    Oliver sure is handsome!
