Summer fun!

We have been really busy this summer. Tallulah is in training for the summer Puglympics.

Mom's not sure why the video looks awesome on her Mac, but crappy on Youtube.

Hope everyone is having a great summer!

  1. You have me curious, do you put clorine in the pool? Is that what the round float is for, also what is the brown thing at the bottom of the pool? I have four pugs in MD and would like a way to beat the heat and get them exercise at the same time. Please give me some advice.
    Thanks!

  2. Hi Tallulah,

The next gold medalist in pug paddling has just been discovered Mom wants to know what kind of pool do you have as well as a step for you to rest on? Think she may be brain storming for our back yard.

    Hugs,
    Suki

  3. pugsx4-Yes, the round floating thing is chlorine. Wish I could afford the salt water pool! But we've had no issues with skin drying out or anything. You could always rinse everyone off after swimming.
The brown thing is a faux wicker ottoman. Poly resin, maybe? There's an ottoman on the outside of the pool and the brown one inside the pool. That allows the pugs to get in and out of the pool without me. While they don't go in the pool unless I am with them, the girls both know where it is and can use it in case of some freak emergency.

The pool is about 20" deep. Tallulah and Petunia can stand up on their back legs and have their heads above water. I do have life jackets for everyone but Tallulah doesn't really need one. Isabelle, on the other hand, absolutely does. She flails in the water. She does not like to swim, but being a senior, black pug with arthritis, swimming is a great exercise for her. So she has to swim a little bit, but then I let her out. She does not jump out of the pool, but she does know to go to the ottoman if she needs a break.

I personally love this pool. I swim in it, the pugs swim in it. It's so worth the money. I bought it at Big Lots for about $70.

    Good luck!

  5. That is the cutest video! I just love it when Petunia gives Tallulah a pat on the back for all her hard work/training. You know, I think Tallulah and I have the same coloring...adorable! Thanks for making me smile today. I just may have to see if mom will head to Big Lots to get us one...it's going to be in the upper 90's to 100 all week!
    Love,
    Payton

You are so pretty when you swim! My mom wishes I would swim, but I don't really like the water.

  11. Wow, that is awesome! Such a nice depth of pool for puggies! Minnie and Mack, I'm afraid would not set foot in it, ha ha ha. Keep up the good work, Tallulah, and go for the gold.

  14. Adorable! We wish we had a pool. Is it a baby pool or a full sized adult pool. We have a tiny baby pool for Bob but it just gets the feet wet. Our yard is pretty small. You are going to be an olympic winner for sure

  15. Wow! That is very impressive. You are a Pug superstar. I tried swimming for the very first time a few weeks ago..maybe mom will post eventually. I did ok, but my mom's first Boston T. pup would dive under water to get rings.
