Parade!

Saturday, we are going to be in the Grand Illumination Parade in Norfolk! It's the biggest parade in the area and kicks off the holidays here. At the magic hour of 7 pm, the city skylines of Norfolk and Portsmouth light up and the parade begins.

Mid-Atlantic Pug Rescue and the Hampton Roads Pug Meet up are one of two doggy units in the parade. The theme this year is Lights, Camera, Action. So what are we going to be? Men in Black, of course. How many of us pugs are minding our own business, walking down the street, when out of nowhere comes "Frank, Men in Black!" from some crazy person.

Our humans are all dressing like agents in the black suits. We are wearing whatever keeps us toasty. Does it really matter if we wear a pink tutu? No, everybody's going to get the picture. Right?

So mom has built this flying saucer thing out of wagon for Quincy and Isabelle to ride in. They wouldn't be able to walk the whole two miles. We are walking with two special little girls, named Emma and Allie. All the walking dogs will have light up leashes and the wagons and strollers will have lights.

Spooky alien pugs have left their ship

It even has a glow underneath!

Okay, so mom's not really into the alien thing, so her friend had to design this for her. But she did all the work. It has five strands of lights and one rope light on the bottom. Mom got this thing called a battery back up that lets her run the lights. We are hoping it lasts the whole parade, but so far it only lasts about 43 minutes. Fingers crossed for us!

More pictures after the parade! And if you want to watch it live on line, go to www.wvec.com at 7 pm Eastern time. If she can, mom will put the link on here later. There's going to be pugs, pug mixes, and honorary pugs-a French bulldog and a big bulldog.

Check back with us Sunday, if mom can get it together in time. We expect to be completely exhausted after being so adorable for so many people. Later!
