One year gone

Tomorrow, it will be one year since Isabelle left us.

It's been a really hard year. For a lot of different reasons.
Don't worry though.
We pugs are pretty healthy.
The house is still standing.
Mom still has a job that pays for our food.

In the good column, mom did go to New York for two days to see U2! That was amazing.

Our aunt Mandy moved from Nebraska to Georgia this summer. Not exactly next door, but a heck of a lot closer than Nebraska. We went to see her over Labor Day.
We plan to go again for Thanksgiving too.

And mom's planning a trip to Texas for Christmas. It's been four years since we've seen our grandma. None of us are getting any younger.

Mom's been too depressed to blog much. Or do much of anything really. If your human is sleeping more than usual or feeling several degrees below blah, take them to the human vet. It may take a while to find a medication that helps, but it's important to keep trying. There is hope.

Sometimes, we have to figure out a new normal. When your routine is changed forever, like two dog bowls instead of three, you have to find a new way to be. It can be hard, but you have to try.
So we are trying.

  1. Good morning, and hugs and weird derpy hand licks. Thinking of all of you.

  2. Gosh a year already! Memories of that little girl will always be in your heart
    Lily & Edward

  3. Good to hear from you, we think of you often. It has been a tough year for us too, so we get trying to find a new normal. Glad the girls are fine. The plant you sent us for Greta is doing well.
    much love
Mr Bailey, Hazel, Mabel & Mom

  4. WE understand wholeheartedly.....hugs..............what a sweet picture. stella rose and momma

  5. Thank you for trying,, Yes,, thank you,,, And for being honest.
Isabelle was a part of our circle of friends,, and will never be forgotten. Time has come,, and gone,,,, but that space in the circle is still there,,, We still hold Isabelle's paw,, even though we cannot see her..
    Keep trying,,, we understand,,,
    yes,, a new normal...

  6. I'm sorry you all have had a tough year and lots of changes. That can definitely be overwhelming for human and pug alike. It's good that you are planning some fun things to look forward to, though. I will send some good pug juju your way - I hope it helps - and I'll keep you all in my thoughts.

  7. Her place in your heart is always filled with your and her love for each other. I have no doubt she expects you to move forward knowing you will always love her.

    Love, Gampy

  8. We've missed you all so much, Miss Isabelle is dearly missed here too. I kept checking every Sunday to see if you were back on the blog. Ryan is deployed so no Neptune festival for us since well the boy is crazy man in crowds! It looks like the NYC trip was fun!

  9. I'm so sorry you are having a tough time. I'll be praying you find the right treatment that helps.
    PS. We miss Isabelle too.

  10. Sending prayers ...

Love Zoe, Peyton, Webster, Liberty, Whitney & Jaxzyn
